A few months before, she had spent months preparing for a once-in-a-lifetime event in the South African desert :

" I just had one of the most unexpected and unforgettable experiences of my life.

Welcome to AfrikaBurn, a Burning Man event in the heart of the South African desert. AfrikaBurn is like a music festival but much, much more, with spiritual workshops all day and amazing music all night.

Hundreds of artworks the size of buildings had been sculpted from wood and lay scattered all over the desert. The sun rose and set over the minimalist landscape, throwing kaleidoscopic colours from pale pastel rose in the morning to proud powerful violet at night. The artworks were "éphémère" because they were all destined to burn at the end of the festival, in line with one of the 10 key leading principles : Leave No Trace.

Thanks to AfrikaBurn, I practiced collective breathing with hundreds of likeminded souls, created positive space in my life, forgave hurtful people of the past, forgave myself, learned to love humanity again, and accepted that we all have defaults. We arrived in the desert full of apprehension, and we left full of love. Thank you to everyone that made this trip so wildly incomparable to anything else I have ever experienced. "
